De Leclair

De is a self-taught appliqué artist who has been crafting quilts since 1981. Her quilts feature the colors of nature and showcase her love for appliqué. Her work has appeared and won awards at local, regional and national shows including six Best of Show Awards and five Viewer's Choice Awards. She is the recipient of the distinguished Masterpiece Quilt Award given by The National Quilting Association for Coeur du Vigne in June 2006.

De obtained her Judging Certification by the National Quilting Association in 2002. De was qualified to judge masterpiece quilts in 2005. De was selected as one of the three judges for the National Quilting Association Annual Show for June 2007.

De is also an Operating Room Nurse at St Luke's Baptist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas, specializing in Orthopedics. Her interests include quilting, gardening and sports. She is married and a mother of two "Aggies", Christopher and Mathieu. Diane "De" Leclair formerly of Lewiston, Maine, now resides in San Antonio, Texas with her family.

Sue Garman

Although Sue Garman learned to sew when she was very young, it was not her first career. In fact, Sue recently retired as Associate Director of the Johnson Space Center in Houston, having also served as Deputy Chief of Staff for NASA in Washington, DC.

Her quilting career started long before she left NASA – a local quilt shop had seen several of her quilts back in the 70s, and invited her to make patterns and teach classes. That’s where it all began – and where she continues today. Her favorite venue is appliqué, but she also loves making complex, intricately pieced quilts. You will rarely see her without a needle in hand – which explains how she finishes over 20 quilts a year. She simply has a passion for the art of quilting.
