No limit on number of entries.
Entrant must be the maker or owner of
the quilt(s) or garment(s) entered. Only current members of West
Houston Quilters Guild are allowed to enter quilts. Non-members
must remit a completed membership form with appropriate dues
attached along with show entry materials.
A Division/Category must be
clearly indicated on the Entry Form.
Entries will not be accepted
unless the “Hold Harmless Agreement” has been signed.
Incomplete registration forms or
entries without all requested items will be returned to the
entrant.
The Entries Committee, reserves
the right to make the final placement of quilts in categories
and to combine or divide categories in order to facilitate
judging. Divisions are determined by the eligibility of the
“maker” of the quilt. WHQG defines the “maker” as the person who
made the quilt top. This is particularly important to note in
the “Two-Person” categories.
Entries in judged categories must
have been completed after March 1, 2007,
be clean and in good condition.
No substitution of the original
entry will be allowed. Entries may not have been displayed in
any previous WHQG quilt show. West Houston Quilters Guild
reserves the right to refuse any entry deemed inappropriate or
which fails to meet entry and/or delivery requirements.
All items entered must be quilted
with the exception of Cathedral Window quilts, Yo-Yo quilts, or
Crazy quilts.
Each entry must have a fabric
identification label sewn on the back
of the quilt. No PINS! This does not need to be a
permanent label, but should have a flap that covers the
information during judging. For convenience and
consistency, we prefer the lower left hand corner of the back.
Every quilt must have an
open-ended 4” diameter rod pocket
(Quilt Hanging Sleeve) stitched to the top of the back of the
quilt. The only exceptions to the 4” rule are miniature quilts
and garments. Miniatures may use rod pockets of only 2” in
diameter. Click HERE for sleeve
construction instructions.
Each quilt entry must be
submitted in a fabric bag. There should be a plastic
pocket in front with a picture of entry along
with the entrant’s name, address, and
phone number. Garment entries may be submitted in a garment bag
with same information. ONE ITEM PER BAG.
