After cutting fabric for your quilt, cut the
remaining fabrics into strips the size you use for bindings.
These leftover strips can then be used on your next scrap quilt
project.

Fun Stuff
Charm Square Swap
Every month we
organize a "Charm Square Swap" where participants exchange
6" squares of a particular kind of fabric (juvenile prints,
reds, plaids, etc.) for the purpose of increasing their
personal fabric stash. For more information on this activity
Challenges
Several times throughout the year, our guild organizes
"Challenges". Everyone who wishes to participate purchases a
fabric packet (usually $5) and is challenged to make a
themed block using the enclosed fabric. Completed blocks are
turned in for judging and prizes. The blocks are then made
into beautiful quilt tops for raffling off to guild members.
Past "Challenge" themes have been Winter, Halloween,
Patriotic and May Baskets.
Quilt Retreat
Each spring and fall the Guild puts together a Quilt
Retreat. Approximately 15 - 25 members take a weekend off
from cooking, cleaning, husbands and children to stay at a
bed-and-breakfast outside Houston and treat themselves to
uninterrupted sewing time with fellow quilters. Sometimes an
organized project is planned (such as a Mystery Quilt) and
sometimes everyone works on their own individual UFO's.
Check the Calendar for dates.
