To make sure you are sewing with a scant 1/4" seam allowance, do a quick test. Sew three 1 1/2" wide strips together.  The measurement across the strips should be 3 1/2".

SPAM in your EMAIL? . . .

When you send guild-related email to any member, include the guild initials WHQG in the subject line.  That way recipients will not hit delete without readying your message - maybe thinking that you are trying to sell health-enhancing drugs or the latest stock tips.

Charm Swap

For 2010 we will do a few new things with the charm swap program.

Each month you have the option to sign up to bring 6 inch squares (charm squares) or 2 1/2" WOF* strips of fabric of pre washed, 100% quality cotton to swap the following month. The number of squares or strips to be swapped will be determined by the number of members who sign up and announced at the end of the guild meeting.

Please bring your squares in a gallon size bag.  The sandwich size is too small :(    And please be sure to write your first and last names on your bag.  A return address label works very well! Any extra blocks that you don't want can be put in the basket. These will be donated to our service bee, Sew Special...from the Heart.
