Sally Schneider

Lecture:  Borders the Built-In Way

Wouldn't you love to be able to transform the complex construction of traditional pieced borders into an easier block method?  Trace the development of the technique from it's early beginnings; see how to make more than a dozen different borders painlessly and easily -- the built-in way.

Workshop: Designing with Built-in Borders

(6 hours) Wouldn't you love to make complex pieced borders that are simple, and that always fit? I've re-designed 10 traditional borders so that they can be made as blocks rather than long strips. They are easy to piece, and fun to use in your quilt. This class will show you how to adapt traditional pieced borders so that they are made as blocks, then put this new knowledge to work in a wall quilt with a built-in border. Sewing machine required.
