Thursday Night Bee

The Thursday Night Bees meets on the first Thursday of each month at various members homes.  Our group consists of new and experienced quilters with varying tastes in quilts.  Activities include group projects, block swaps, nursing home quilts, Christmas stockings, outings and a couple of retreats during the year.

The Thursday Night Bee has been very busy this year as was evidenced at the May guild meeting.  The Bee turned in over 40 lap quilts for the nursing home as well as Linus.  Most of the Bee members are working on a Star Sprinkle exchange to take place at the October 2009 meeting--40 each of two different blocks.  Which has caused a little bit of grief for some of the members--a couple are completely finished with their 80 blocks, some haven't started yet and then a couple of members made the wrong block...  And I refuse to name names.

We also have a couple of members who have turned back the clock and are sewing with hand cranked machines--ask Linda and Michelle about their new passion.  For a couple of months we will work on our own projects and then in August or September have our Christmas Stocking frenzy.

Then you're probably going to want to know WHERE Michelle was quilting!  How about out in a field while her husband was flying model airplanes!  Now that is a dedicated wife and quilter.  Go Michelle!

Members of the Thursday Night Bee were photographed in Nita's back yard showing the many quilts being donated to the guild. Pictured are Michelle, Carolyn, Nancy, Connie, Mariet and Linda.  Nita is in front.  Pictured are about 20 of the 38 quilts turned in at the May Guild meeting.

The Thursday Night Bee had a male visitor at their regular Bee meeting--Flat Fold Chris.  He has been visiting Gail and has even helped her at work taking x-rays.  He didn't say too much, but was delighted that there was a quilt just his size.

Members of the Thursday Night Bee really enjoyed themselves at the strip workshop put on by the Ladies of the Night.  We stripped, ate, learned a new block, ate some more, learned another new block, made a few blocks, and then ate some more.  Great job, Ladies of the Night.

Several members of the Thursday Bee enjoying the Strip Workshop hosted by the Ladies of the Night!  What were they drinking?  Pictured left to right; Ann, Gail, Linda, Michelle and Betty.

Linda finishes up her block.  Was that 'pole dancing'??

Somebody must have scared Gail with their choice of fabric

Why is Connie all by herself?
